Since 1993 the Glen Mills Schools has been involved in replicating the school's world renowned program in the Netherlands. This project has been operating under the Honderloo Group of the Netherlands and is independent of the Glen Mills Schools. Through presentations to top government officials, ongoing consulting and training of both staff and students in the USA, a new school opened in 1999 based on the Glen Mills model.

This replication of the positive peer and staff culture has allowed the Netherlands to have an alternative program that will provide the basis of opportunity for thousands of teenagers in Europe. In the short time since its inception, this program has already been praised as an innovative and effective program for the educational and vocational teaching of delinquent youth in a residential setting.
